Wike’s Son Rejects $2.1m Land Deal Claim, Alleges Forgery

Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike told an FCT High Court in Maitama on Wednesday that he did not take $2.1 million in an alleged Abuja land deal. He is the son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. He said the signature on documents used against him was forged.

Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited filed the suit, marked CV/008/2026. They said Jordan agreed to help them obtain 30 hectares in Katampe and 30 hectares in Guzape. They alleged he asked for $2.1 million, with $2 million meant for his father and $100,000 as his own fee.

The claimants said cash was handed over on 26 September 2025 in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani. They said Onor Sandy accompanied Jordan. They later said he neither delivered the land nor refunded the money.

Under cross-examination by Hamza Dantani, counsel to the claimants, Jordan denied the account. “I did not receive any money from anybody. I did not sign any document for land deal. I only found out that my signature was on the land document just like anyone else in this court yesterday,” he told the court. He added, “I never had any friend named Onor Sandy and I did not have any deal with anyone regarding land deal.”

He said he left Abuja for London on a British Airways flight at 7:56 a.m. on the alleged payment date. Justice Silvanus Oriji had ordered him to produce his American passport. The court admitted the document, made a copy and returned the original.

Ogwu Onoja, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, represented Jordan. The defence said the passport number on the alleged acknowledgment was not his current number. The court adjourned further hearing to December.
