Kwankwaso Urges Nigerians to Follow Him on TikTok for Authentic Updates

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Kano State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 election, announced his presence on TikTok on Wednesday. He invited Nigerians to follow his account for reliable information.

Kwankwaso posted the message on X. In the statement he wrote, “I am on TikTok! I encourage you all to follow me there for authentic information, the latest updates, and exclusive contents directly related to my daily life.” He then added, “Nigeria will be OK.”

The former governor used the post to confirm that he had opened an account on the video platform. He asked the public to connect with him there. This step gave him another way to share news about his activities without filters.

Meanwhile, TikTok remains popular among younger users for short clips. Public figures have turned to it in recent years to post personal updates and speak to supporters. Kwankwaso’s move followed that pattern.

Kwankwaso stressed that the account would carry exclusive material tied to his everyday life. He presented the platform as a source of authentic details. The message also carried a note of hope about the country’s future through the line “Nigeria will be OK.”

In addition, the announcement came as political activity increased ahead of the 2027 polls. Kwankwaso already maintained an active presence on X, where he regularly addressed followers. The TikTok account therefore expanded the channels available to him.

Supporters and the wider public now have the option to follow the account for the updates he described. The post closed with his initials, RMK, after the optimistic statement about Nigeria.
