Davido Mocks Edo Governor Okpebholo with Alleged WAEC Record After Remarks About Adeleke

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on social media after the governor made comments about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is the singer’s uncle.

The online exchange began after Governor Okpebholo reportedly criticised Governor Adeleke while speaking at a political gathering. The remarks quickly drew reactions from supporters of both politicians across social media platforms.

In response, Davido shared what he claimed was Governor Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result on his social media page. The singer accompanied the post with remarks mocking the governor’s academic performance, a move that sparked widespread reactions online.

The post generated mixed responses from Nigerians. While some social media users defended Davido’s reaction as a response to comments directed at his uncle, others criticised the singer for introducing personal records into a political dispute.

Neither Governor Okpebholo nor the Edo State Government had issued an official response to Davido’s social media post as of the time of filing this report.

The incident has further fueled political conversations online, particularly as Governor Ademola Adeleke prepares to seek another term in office in Osun State, with Davido already playing an active role in his uncle’s campaign activities.
