The Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria named its new permanent secretariat after First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. The organization announced the dedication during the official commissioning ceremony of the facility.
Stephen Adegbite, chairman of the Lagos State CAN, led the ceremony. He praised Senator Tinubu’s dedication to humanitarian causes and her contributions to national development. Adegbite noted that her work had touched many lives across religious and ethnic lines.
Other CAN officials attended the event and echoed similar sentiments. They described the naming as a fitting tribute to a leader who had consistently advocated for the welfare of Nigerians. Furthermore, they emphasized that the gesture reflected the association’s appreciation for her service to humanity.
Oluremi Tinubu expressed gratitude for the recognition. She stated, “I am deeply honored by this gesture from the Christian Association of Nigeria. This recognition strengthens my resolve to continue serving our people and working towards a more united Nigeria.”
She added, “The church has always played a vital role in our nation’s development, and I remain committed to supporting initiatives that bring positive change to our communities.”
The event drew attendees from various denominations and political circles. Participants described the occasion as a significant milestone for religious harmony in Lagos State. The new secretariat will serve as the administrative headquarters for CAN activities in the state.
