2027: Cross River Fully Backs Tinubu and Otu, Says Betta Edu

Betta Edu, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, declared that Cross River State stood fully behind President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 elections.

She spoke on the sidelines of an All Progressives Congress rally held in Calabar on Tuesday. Edu serves as Co-Director of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Directorate.

She said, “Cross River State is 100 per cent behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and Governor Bassey Otu’s second-term ambition.”

Edu described the gathering as clear evidence of the party’s strength in the state. She said, “The rally is a powerful demonstration of the unity, strength, and unwavering commitment of the APC family in Cross River.”

Vice-President Kashim Shettima attended the event. Senate President Godswill Akpabio also joined the rally. APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda was present. Governors from Cross River, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Edo states took part.

Edu urged party members to keep the momentum alive. She specifically called on women, youths and grassroots mobilisers to intensify community engagement, mobilisation and voter sensitisation before the 2027 polls.

She noted that the people of Cross River continued to identify with the leadership of Tinubu and Otu because of their focus on development and improved welfare.
