Former Osun Central Senator Olusola Adeyeye declared that only God knows who can resolve the lingering differences between President Bola Tinubu and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Adeyeye spoke on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme. He responded to questions on whether anyone could reconcile the two political figures.
Adeyeye stated that only the two men themselves can forgive each other. “I don’t know; only God knows. When things get to be like this, only the two of them can forgive each other,” he said.
He explained that he wanted the two brought together. According to him, their reconciliation would benefit the All Progressives Congress and Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign.
“My wish would be for my party and for the president, because I want the president to win, and if he must, we must bring everybody together,” Adeyeye added.
However, Adeyeye acknowledged a key difficulty. He noted that Aregbesola’s current role in the opposition African Democratic Congress would make any reunion hard.
Adeyeye serves as the South-West Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council. He stressed that the decision rests solely with Tinubu and Aregbesola.
The former senator avoided assigning blame. Instead, he focused on the need for mutual forgiveness between the two leaders.
The relationship between Tinubu and Aregbesola once stood strong. Yet political disagreements in Osun State later created distance between them.
Adeyeye’s comments came as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections. He maintained that unity remains essential for the party’s success.
