President Bola Tinubu congratulated David Umahi, the Minister of Works, on his 63rd birthday on Saturday.
Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, issued the statement. Tinubu described Umahi as one of his outstanding and hardworking ministers.
Tinubu noted Umahi’s dedication to the role. “Engineer Umahi has been one of my outstanding, hardworking ministers. He is passionate about the job and delivering durable roads and bridges that will last for about a century,” the president stated.
Furthermore, Tinubu highlighted Umahi’s hands-on approach. “As a minister, he does not just sit in his office or rely on reports from subordinates. He is constantly on the road, personally monitoring construction work nationwide to ensure compliance with specifications and approvals,” he added.
Umahi previously served as a two-term governor of Ebonyi State from May 2015 to May 2023. He also represented Ebonyi South as a senator before his appointment as minister.
Tinubu recognised the minister’s sustained efforts in road infrastructure. He then urged Umahi to accelerate construction, rehabilitation and delivery of projects. This, he said, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s goal of improving citizens’ quality of life and boosting economic activity.
Tinubu celebrated with the minister and his family. He wished Umahi good health and renewed strength as he continued to serve the nation.
