Peter Obi visited Ehime General Hospital on Thursday and donated N10 million. The contribution aimed to improve healthcare services in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
Obi handed over the funds during the visit. Hospital officials received the money to support ongoing renovation and upgrade of medical facilities. The donation also backed plans to establish a nursing school at the complex.
Obi stressed the need for better healthcare across Nigeria. He said a healthy population forms the foundation for national progress.
Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Most Rev. David Okechukwu Chikezie Onuoha welcomed Obi at the hospital. Onuoha commended Obi for his consistent support for health and education sectors. The archbishop noted that such contributions made a meaningful difference in local communities.
Obi toured the facility after the presentation. He observed the hospital’s efforts to deliver quality services despite challenges. Afterwards, Obi called on governments and stakeholders to invest more in the health sector.
He argued that improved healthcare and education remained critical for development. Obi urged greater collaboration to address gaps in medical services.
The hospital management expressed gratitude for the timely support. Officials said the funds would help acquire essential equipment and enhance patient care.
