Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal declared on Monday that he sleeps well because he is not a desperate politician. He also assured that the state would deliver the maximum number of votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
The governor made the remarks while addressing journalists in Gusau, the state capital.
Governor Dauda Lawal stated that he never experienced sleepless nights over his role. He linked this to his approach to politics and the progress recorded in the state.
“I never had a sleepless night because first of all, I’m not a desperate politician,” he said.
Furthermore, he added: “Based on what we have done, I’m 100 percent convinced that by the grace of Allah I have come to change and I sleep very well, I’m happy and healthy. That is to tell you that under any circumstances I sleep and I never had any sleepless nights and the state is beginning to see transformation.”
The governor also spoke on the forthcoming elections. He compared politics to a pregnant woman whose outcome becomes clear only after delivery.
“Politics is like a pregnant woman, it’s only when you deliver that you will know the sex of the baby,” he said.
Afterwards, he assured the President of strong support from Zamfara. “What I’m saying is that by the grace of Almighty Allah we will deliver the maximum number of votes to Mr President and I can’t say of any other state. We will give him more than what the state gave him in 2023, so I don’t have any fear. I can say for Zamfara State that we will deliver Tinubu with the greatest number of votes,” Governor Dauda Lawal stated.
