Josimar Dias, known as Vozinha, the Cape Verde goalkeeper, reached an agreement to join Chilean club Colo Colo after his performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Aníbal Mosa, president of Blanco y Negro which manages Colo Colo, confirmed the deal on Friday. The 40 year old free agent previously played for Portuguese second division side Chaves before the tournament.
“Vozinha will be a Colo Colo player. In the coming days he will travel to Chile, undergo the usual medical examinations and then be presented here at the Estadio Monumental,” Mosa told reporters.
Furthermore, Mosa stated that an agreement was in place and that the player’s name had been approved across all levels of the club. He added that Vozinha was someone coming in to contribute.
Vozinha helped Cape Verde reach the Round of 32 in the nation’s first World Cup appearance. He kept a clean sheet in a goalless draw against eventual champions Spain in the opening match and produced a series of saves as Argentina needed extra time to eliminate the African side 3 2 in the last 32.
In addition, the veteran earned a place in FIFA’s fan selected World Cup Dream Team for his displays.
Vozinha will travel to Chile shortly for medical tests. Officials expected the formal presentation to follow at the Estadio Monumental in Santiago.
