Anambra State beneficiaries of the National Education Loan Fund donated ₦10.735 million to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential bid for a second term in 2027. The students made the contribution on Friday during an event where they endorsed the president.

The group jointly contributed ten million, seven hundred and thirty-five thousand, five hundred naira (₦10,735,500) towards the purchase of Tinubu’s expression of interest form. They described the donation as a symbol of gratitude for the administration’s education reforms.

Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, who serves as Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Council at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam Campus, spoke at the event. He thanked stakeholders for their support in youth mobilisation.

“This movement and its successful coordination were made possible through the continuous support, strategic guidance, and unwavering encouragement of key stakeholders,” Chukwuemeka said.

The beneficiaries praised Tinubu for the NELFUND initiative. They highlighted how the programme improved access to higher education and reduced financial burdens on students across Nigeria. They also commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State for his efforts to enhance educational standards and support progressive collaboration.

In addition, the students lauded Obinna Iyiegbu, South-East Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, for his leadership in youth empowerment. They recognised Chief Nonso Ozoemena, Anambra State Coordinator of the same movement, and Mrs Adaora Soludo Ibekwe, its State Woman Leader, for promoting inclusive participation.

The event brought together student leaders, including presidents of various Students’ Union Governments from the South-East zone, and former Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Student Matters, Hon. Okoye Okpala Mathew. The beneficiaries said they remained committed to unity and progressive leadership.
