Barcelona coach Hansi Flick stated that his side possessed the quality needed to win the Champions League this season. He made the remarks in a press conference ahead of the club’s opening group-stage match against Feyenoord.
Flick said big clubs dream of lifting the trophy. “We have the quality to win it, but the road is long,” he told reporters. “We have to prove it.”
The coach pointed to the depth of experience in the squad. “We have many experienced players,” Flick said. “They all have the responsibility to win everything.”
He added that the Champions League demands commitment from every member of the group. The team had already secured four wins in domestic competition, yet he insisted that success never comes easily. Players who remained on the bench still needed to prove themselves daily in training, he noted.
Barcelona entered the European campaign after securing consecutive La Liga titles under Flick. The German coach also identified a third straight league crown as a special target.
At the same time, he described the Champions League as the most important competition for the club, its players and its supporters.
Flick stressed the need for unity and constant improvement. Communication on the pitch remained essential, he explained, and the squad already showed strong connection and readiness.
The Catalan club last won the Champions League in the 2014-15 season. Flick’s comments therefore set a clear priority as the new European campaign opened at the Camp Nou. He repeatedly returned to the same message: the quality exists, yet the path requires daily proof and collective effort.
