Several youth groups from Abia North Senatorial District endorsed Senator Orji Uzo Kalu for re-election. As reported by ALO360 the groups gathered on Saturday and called on Dr Philip Nto to withdraw his ambition immediately.
The youth groups converged in the senatorial zone and declared full support for the former Abia State governor. Consequently their spokesman addressed the gathering.
Comrade Kalu Mba Kalu spoke as spokesman of the groups. “The groups had through their various considerations opted to back Sen Kalu for a return to the Red Chambers of the National Assembly” he stated.
Moreover the youths warned that they might react negatively if Dr Philip Nto failed to step down within seven hours.
Comrade Kalu Mba Kalu explained the reasons for the endorsement. He said Senator Orji Uzo Kalu attracted verifiable development and infrastructure to Abia North. In addition the senator sustained the All Progressives Congress and its supporters in a state where the party remained in opposition for many years.
Therefore the groups described Senator Orji Uzo Kalu as a ranking and impactful lawmaker.
The youth groups urged Dr Philip Nto to withdraw from the race. “And embrace Orji Uzor Kalu” they added.
As a result they stressed that Abia North could not afford to lose an experienced senator at the 11th Senate. Furthermore the endorsement aimed to maintain strong representation for the district.
Senator Orji Uzo Kalu received strong backing from the youths through this gathering. As reported by ALO360 the move strengthened his position ahead of the senatorial race.
