John Stones joined Inter Milan on a free transfer on Thursday. The 32-year-old England defender signed a two-year contract that runs until June 2028.
Stones left Manchester City at the end of June after his contract expired. He spent 10 years at the Premier League club following a £47.5 million move from Everton in 2016. During that time he made 295 appearances and scored 19 goals.
Stones helped Manchester City win six Premier League titles, the Champions League, three FA Cups and three League Cups. He also collected the Club World Cup and other domestic honours under former manager Pep Guardiola. Injuries limited him in recent seasons, and he made only nine Premier League appearances last term.

Meanwhile, Stones featured for England at the recent World Cup. He helped the team finish third and started key matches, including the quarter-final win over Norway and the semi-final defeat by Argentina.
Inter Milan announced the signing after Stones attracted interest from clubs across Europe, including Chelsea and Juventus. The move reunites him with former Manchester City team-mate Manuel Akanji, who joined Inter permanently this summer.
Inter won the Serie A title last season under head coach Cristian Chivu. The club also lifted the Coppa Italia. Stones could make his debut when Inter begin their title defence against Monza on 22 August.
