All Progressives Congress national publicity secretary Felix Morka criticized Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso on Monday. Morka described the two politicians as unserious for defecting to the Nigeria Democratic Congress in search of a free presidential platform.
Morka made the statement after reports emerged that Obi and Kwankwaso joined the NDC. He said the move showed a lack of commitment to building strong political structures.
Felix Morka accused Peter Obi of behaving like a political rolling stone. He stated that Obi moved from one party to another without building lasting foundations. Morka added that the former Anambra State governor sought an uncontested ticket rather than face genuine competition.
Morka also targeted former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. He claimed Kwankwaso followed the same pattern of party hopping to secure an easy path to the presidency. Morka described their actions as opportunistic.
Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso recently left the African Democratic Congress amid internal challenges. Former Bayelsa State governor Seriake Dickson welcomed them into the Nigeria Democratic Congress. The development triggered fresh realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.
Felix Morka dismissed the alliance as unserious politics. He argued that true leaders stayed and fixed problems in their parties instead of jumping ship for convenience. Morka urged Nigerians to see through what he called a desperate search for a free platform.
The APC maintained that such moves would not weaken the ruling party. Analysts noted that the criticisms highlighted ongoing tensions within Nigeria’s opposition as major figures repositioned themselves.
