Brighton Shock Chelsea Again With 3-0 Win as Goal Drought Hits Five Games

Brighton produced a clinical display to beat Chelsea 3-0 in the Premier League on Tuesday night. The home side controlled the match from the start and exposed Chelsea’s ongoing scoring drought.

Ferdi Kadioglu struck in the third minute. The Brighton defender finished a swift move to give his team an immediate lead. Chelsea looked stunned and failed to create any clear chances in the opening half. Brighton kept pressure high and went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Jack Hinshelwood made it 2-0 in the 56th minute. The midfielder converted on the counter after Brighton broke quickly. Chelsea recorded zero shots on target throughout the entire game. Their attack stayed blunt while the defence leaked space on transitions.

Danny Welbeck added the third goal in the 90th minute. The striker tapped in from close range to complete the scoring. Brighton finished with 15 shots to Chelsea’s six and held 53.7 percent possession.

The defeat left Chelsea with five straight league losses without a goal. The Blues had gone nearly eight hours without finding the net in the Premier League, a club record. They dropped to seventh place while Brighton strengthened their push for a top-six finish.

Brighton manager Liam Rosenior watched his side move closer to European qualification. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca saw his team set a unwanted historical low. The visitors now face a tough test to end their barren run.
