Anthony Joshua Relocates £150 Million Business Empire to Dubai

British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua moved his entire business empire, valued at approximately £150 million, from the United Kingdom to Dubai. The 35-year-old athlete confirmed his new residency status in recently filed corporate documents, marking a significant shift in his commercial operations.

The former two-time unified heavyweight champion transferred his company, Sparta Promotions Limited, to the United Arab Emirates. Corporate filings with Companies House revealed that Joshua updated his registered address to a location in Dubai. The move placed his substantial earnings from boxing purses, endorsements, and investments under UAE jurisdiction.

A spokesperson for Joshua addressed the relocation in a statement to the press. “Anthony has made the decision to relocate his business interests to Dubai,” the spokesperson said. “This move reflects his current personal circumstances and future plans.”

The relocation carried significant financial implications for the British athlete. Dubai offered favorable tax conditions compared to the UK, where high earners faced substantial tax obligations. Joshua’s business empire encompassed earnings from his blockbuster fights against Andy Ruiz Jr., Wladimir Klitschko, and Tyson Fury, alongside lucrative sponsorship deals with brands such as Under Armour, Land Rover, and Hugo Boss.

Financial experts noted that the move aligned with broader patterns among high-net-worth individuals. The UAE established itself as an attractive destination for wealthy expatriates seeking tax efficiency and lifestyle benefits. Joshua’s decision followed similar moves by other British sports figures and entertainers.

Documents filed in early 2024 showed that Joshua changed his country of residence from England to the United Arab Emirates. The boxer listed a Dubai address as his primary residence for business purposes. Additionally, he appointed new directors to oversee his company’s operations from the UAE.

The corporate restructuring involved multiple entities within Joshua’s business portfolio. His company managed various revenue streams including fight promotions, merchandise sales, and media rights. The move to Dubai centralized these operations under a single jurisdiction.

Promoter Eddie Hearn commented on Joshua’s decision during an interview with Sky Sports. “Anthony has spent a lot of time in Dubai over the past few years,” Hearn said. “He has developed strong connections there and sees it as a base for his future activities.”

Hearn emphasized that the move would not affect Joshua’s commitment to British boxing. “He remains dedicated to his UK fans and will continue to fight in Britain,” Hearn stated. “This is purely a business decision regarding where he manages his affairs.”

Joshua addressed questions about his residency during a press conference in London. “I have made Dubai my home for business purposes,” he said. “It provides the right environment for me to manage my career and plan for the future.”

He declined to discuss specific tax arrangements, citing privacy concerns. “My financial matters remain private,” Joshua stated. “I have always conducted my business professionally and in accordance with all regulations.”
