Donald Ojogo, the member representing Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, distributed 4,500 bags of rice to his constituents.
The lawmaker said the gesture aimed to provide relief to households across Ilaje and Ese Odo Local Government Areas. He secured the rice through his collaboration with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja.
The distribution took place at Teachers Hall in Okoga, Igbokoda, within Ilaje Local Government Area. Beneficiaries came from communities across the two local government areas.
Under the arrangement, each political ward received 100 bags of rice. Several associations and interest groups also received allocations. These included youth groups, artisans, market women, traditional and religious leaders, persons with disabilities and other community stakeholders.
Ojogo stated that the intervention formed part of his efforts to ensure that opportunities available through federal institutions translated into tangible benefits for the people.
“This intervention is part of my efforts to ensure that opportunities available through federal institutions are translated into tangible benefits for the people,” Ojogo said. “The rice is secured through my facilitation with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja.”
The lawmaker also called on his constituents to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He urged them to prioritise the president’s re-election in 2027.
“The re-election of President Bola Tinubu is paramount to us in Ondo State. I want to call on our people to support the president’s re-election in 2027 for us to continue enjoying the good things the president is doing for us in Ondo State and in Nigeria in general,” he said.
Victor Kolade Akinjo, a former member of the House of Representatives who chaired the event, described the intervention as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of constituents. Community stakeholders and beneficiaries present at the distribution expressed appreciation for the initiative.
