Victims speak out ahead of expected U.S. House vote on release of Epstein files

Victims speak in D.C. ahead of vote

Survivors of Epstein’s abuse are speaking in a news conference on Capitol Hill.

They held up pictures of themselves as teenagers of 14 to 17, when they say they were trafficked by Epstein.

They said they want the files released because several of their abusers have not been held accountable.

Wendy Avis held a photo of herself at 14. She said she now has a daughter that age.

“When I look at her, I see the little girl I used to be, the one no one protected,” Avis said.

“Please vote for the bill, please release the files,” she added.

Another survivor, Danielle Bensky, spoke of the friendships that have formed among victims in their push for accountability and their “big dreams” that were “shattered” by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and the men who were clients of the pair.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Epstein’s sexual abuse of underage girls.
