U.S. Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Friday that she was resigning from her position, and that her last day in office will be Jan. 5.

The House Representative from Georgia posted a lengthy resignation statement on social media.

It comes amid a public fallout with U.S. President Donald Trump, a former ally.
