TRANSFER RUMOUR: Manchester United Target €80m From Potential Rashford and Højlund Exits in June

Manchester United officials expressed optimism. The club could receive up to €80 million from the permanent exits of Rasmus Højlund and Marcus Rashford in June. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the development on March 5 2026.

Moreover Napoli already paid a €6 million loan fee for Højlund. Club sources expected the Serie A side to trigger the €44 million buy clause.

Rasmus Højlund joined Napoli on a season long loan last summer. He scored important goals and helped the team compete at the top of Serie A. The striker adapted quickly to life in Italy.

Additionally, the move allowed Manchester United to reduce its wage bill. Officials believed the permanent transfer would benefit all parties involved.

Marcus Rashford moved to Barcelona on loan. The England international delivered strong performances for the Spanish club. Barcelona entered advanced discussions for a €30 million permanent transfer.

Furthermore, the combined package would give Manchester United important financial flexibility. Executives planned to use the funds to bring in new players during the summer window.

The expected exits came after both players struggled for consistency at Old Trafford. Manchester United completed its evaluation of the squad recently. Club chiefs viewed the sales as part of a necessary rebuild.

Sources close to the negotiations confirmed positive progress on both deals. They anticipated the permanent transfers to go through once the current season concludes.
