Tottenham Hotspur Slip Deeper Into Relegation Trouble After 1-3 Defeat to Palace

Crystal Palace secured a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. The win came at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 5 2026. Tottenham head coach Igor Tudor saw his side fall apart after a first half red card.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring for Spurs in the 34th minute. However, defender Micky van de Ven received a straight red card just four minutes later. This decision left Tottenham with ten players for most of the contest.

Moreover, Crystal Palace capitalised immediately. Ismaïla Sarr converted a penalty in the 40th minute to level the score. Furthermore, the visitors scored twice in stoppage time before halftime. Jørgen Strand Larsen headed home the second goal. Ismaïla Sarr then added his second strike to give Palace a commanding 3-1 lead.

Tottenham head coach Igor Tudor addressed the media after the match. He stated that the problems at the club were bigger than any he had encountered in his career. He added that the players needed to show greater character to escape the danger zone.

The defeat pushed Tottenham deeper into trouble. The London club sat in 16th place with 29 points after 29 games. Additionally, Spurs remained winless in the league since the start of 2026. They now sat only one point above the relegation places.

This result marked their fifth consecutive Premier League loss. Tottenham officials now prepare for crucial fixtures against fellow strugglers in the coming weeks.
