President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibrahim Masari as Special Adviser on Political Affairs. The President announced the promotion on Tuesday.
Tinubu previously named Masari as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election. The pair campaigned together before the Independent National Electoral Commission certified their victory. Masari subsequently served in various capacities within the administration.
The Special Adviser on Political Affairs position carries significant weight within the presidency. The officeholder manages political strategy and coordinates relationships with key stakeholders. Masari assumed his new duties immediately following the announcement.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the appointment. He stated, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Masari as Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs.”
Onanuga added, “Masari brings considerable political experience to this role.” The presidential spokesperson emphasized that the appointment reflected Tinubu’s confidence in Masari’s abilities.
