Super Eagles Squad Complete as Ndidi Joins for Iran & Jordan Friendlies

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi joined the national team camp on March 25, 2026. His arrival completed the squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Iran and Jordan. Head coach Eric Chelle had earlier named a 23-man squad, but injuries and other issues reduced the available players to 22 before Ndidi checked in.

Ndidi arrived at the team hotel in the afternoon. He took part in the evening training session with all other squad members. This development brought the Super Eagles to full strength for the first time during the camp.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed Ndidi’s arrival through official channels. Reports stated that the midfielder trained fully with the group. His presence boosted the team’s midfield options as preparations intensified.

Eric Chelle expressed satisfaction with the squad’s progress. The French coach had invited key players including Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, and several debutants for the friendlies scheduled in Amman, Jordan.

Ndidi missed the initial days of camp due to club commitments with Besiktas in Turkey. He flew in directly after fulfilling his domestic obligations. Teammates welcomed him warmly during the session.

The Super Eagles will face Iran and Jordan in a four-nation tournament setup. These matches serve as preparation for future competitions. Coach Eric Chelle used the friendlies to test combinations and integrate new faces.

Wilfred Ndidi’s return added experience to the midfield. The squad now includes goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Adeleye Adebayo, and Francis Uzoho, along with a mix of defenders, midfielders, and forwards.

Officials noted that all 22 players participated in Wednesday’s training. This marked a positive step for team cohesion ahead of the international fixtures.
