Qatar’s military intercepted two missiles that entered the airspace above Doha, the nation’s capital, on Friday. The incident triggered immediate security protocols across the city. Authorities ordered the evacuation of several strategic areas as a precautionary measure to protect civilians from potential harm.
The Qatari Armed Forces detected the incoming projectiles and engaged their missile defense network. Military officials confirmed that both missiles were successfully intercepted before reaching their intended targets. The interception occurred during daylight hours, allowing residents to observe the defensive operations.
Following the threat, security personnel directed the evacuation of government districts, diplomatic zones, and commercial centers. Emergency services coordinated the movement of thousands of residents to designated safe locations. Traffic control teams managed roadways to facilitate the rapid departure from affected areas.
Government spokesperson Ahmed Al-Khater addressed the media shortly after the incident. “Our armed forces successfully neutralized the aerial threat,” he stated. “The safety of our citizens and residents remains our highest priority.”
Interior Ministry official Fatima Al-Nuaimi provided additional details regarding the evacuation. “We took decisive action to clear vulnerable areas once the threat was confirmed,” she said. “This protocol ensures maximum protection for the population.”
