General Christopher Musa (retd), the Minister of Defence, ordered an immediate operational rejig of military formations in the North-West and North-East. He gave this directive on Tuesday in Abuja. The order followed recent attacks on military bases in both regions.
Unknown gunmen had targeted military installations in the northern zones. Consequently, the defence minister convened an emergency security meeting. He assessed the situation and demanded urgent tactical changes.
Musa instructed field commanders to adopt new strategies. Furthermore, he stressed the need for improved intelligence gathering. He also called for better coordination among security agencies.
The minister spoke firmly about the changes. “We must rejig our operations in the North-West and North-East immediately,” he stated. He added, “Our troops need fresh tactics to counter these threats effectively.”
