Manchester United Increase Match Ticket Prices by 5% Across Old Trafford

Manchester United announced a five per cent increase in season ticket prices across all areas of Old Trafford for the next season. The club communicated the change to supporters on Friday.

Club officials defended the rise. They said it formed part of efforts to strengthen the squad and improve the stadium. “It is within this context we have made the decision to increase season ticket prices by around five per cent across all areas of Old Trafford,” the officials stated.

Additionally, the increase averaged just over two pounds per game for adult tickets. The club also made small changes to season ticket usage rules.

Manchester United highlighted continued rises in operating costs. Officials noted that the club kept the increase at the lowest possible level. They added that the extra revenue would support the goal of returning to the top of domestic and European football. The club aims to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2028 with renewed success on the pitch.

Furthermore, this marked the fourth successive season of five per cent increases. The club froze prices for 11 years before that period.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust criticised the announcement. The organisation released a statement that expressed disappointment.

“It is disappointing that the club has ignored our call, as part of the FSA’s league-wide campaign, for a ticket price freeze,” the trust said. “Supporters are paying more and more to watch their team.”

Season ticket holders now face higher costs as they renew for the upcoming campaign. The club insisted it remained committed to its loyal fans while ensuring financial stability.
