Justina Azuka Makes History as First ADC Female Candidate to Win Election

Spouse of slain lawmaker in Nigeria’s Anambra State, Justina Azuka has been hailed across the State for her victory over the weekend in the bye election, which took place in Onitsha North 1 State Constituency of the State and across Nigeria.

Election pundits emphasize that the people of Onitsha North 1 have written their names in the sands of time by electing Justina Azuka as the first female candidate to win an election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued shortly after the polls, the Justina Azuka Campaign Organization expressed profound gratitude to the constituents for their overwhelming support, patience and peaceful conduct during the election.

“Your remarkable turnout and commitment to democracy reflect the resilient spirit of our people,” the statement read.

Special appreciation was also extended to former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, whose inspiration and support were described as instrumental in the campaign’s success.

Regardless of the political outcome, the campaign organization emphasized its appreciation for the trust and encouragement shown by the electorate, noting that the election has once again demonstrated that democracy is alive and thriving in Onitsha North 1.
