Former British ambassador to the United States, US, Peter Mandelson has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
According to Fox News, authorities confirmed that the former ambassador was arrested in England on Monday.
London’s Metropolitan Police also confirmed the arrest, saying, “officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office”.
The police stated that Peter Mandelson was arrested in north London and has been taken to a police station to be interviewed.
Police did not name Mandelson, in keeping with British police practice, but the suspect in the case has previously been identified as Mandelson.
