EPL: Historic Moment for Dowman as Arsenal Seal 2–0 Win Over Everton

Arsenal defeated Everton 2-0 in a Premier League match on March 14, 2026. Young forward Dowman scored the second goal in stoppage time. The result lifted Arsenal closer to the top of the table.

Everton defended with discipline from the first whistle. They restricted Arsenal to long-range efforts. However, Arsenal kept pressing forward. They created more clear chances as the game progressed.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice opened the scoring in the 79th minute. He collected a short corner from Martin Odegaard. Rice then struck a fierce shot past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford into the far corner.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sent on substitute Dowman in the 87th minute. The 16-year-old academy product then made history. He became the youngest player ever to score in the Premier League for Arsenal.

Dowman latched onto a through ball from Bukayo Saka. He rounded Pickford and slotted the ball into an empty net in the 93rd minute.

The two goals in the final 15 minutes secured all three points for Arsenal. Everton pushed for a reply but failed to test goalkeeper David Raya. Arsenal defended their lead with composure until the final whistle.

Mikel Arteta addressed the media afterward. The Arsenal manager said: “The team showed patience and the substitute delivered when it mattered most.”

Dowman gave his own reaction. He stated: “Scoring for Arsenal and breaking a record is a dream come true. I just want to keep working hard for the team.”
