President Bola Ahmed Tinubu explained the short stay. He told the grieving families, “You have no electricity at the airport and I must depart within the next 10 minutes.”
The president expressed frustration over the outage. He said he could offer only condolences because time did not allow more. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu promised the tragedy would not happen again but stressed the immediate power problem at the facility.
