Umar Haruna Doguwa emerged as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State. He took the helm at the party state congress.
Delegates from the 44 local government areas endorsed Umar Haruna Doguwa. They gave their support through voice votes during the event.
Furthermore, the congress affirmed other executive members in similar fashion. The process occurred on March 4 2026.
The Independent National Electoral Commission supervised the congress. Additionally, its resident electoral commissioner Ambassador Zango Abdu oversaw the activities.
Rabiu Suleiman Bichi the chairman of the State Congress Committee reported that 2,420 delegates received accreditation for the exercise. Umar Haruna Doguwa succeeded Abdullahi Abbas. The outgoing chairman served in the position for 10 years.
Moreover, Doguwa previously held the same office during the second term of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Doguwa pledged to unite the party. He also vowed to strengthen its operations across the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf congratulated the new executives. He urged them to work hard to strengthen the party and advance its goals in Kano State.
