The United States offered a reward of up to $20 million on Friday for information about Iran’s nuclear program. Officials also promised possible relocation for those who provided useful tips.
The offer came through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program. US Central Command shared the announcement on the social media platform X.
Rewards for Justice sought information on nuclear facilities, equipment and associated personnel. This included members of the scientific community. The program also asked for details on the movement of any related assets or individuals.
In its statement, the program said: “If you have information on Iran’s nuclear program, assets, or associated individuals, send it to us via Signal or our Tor-based tip line. You may be eligible for a reward and relocation.”
Tips could be submitted through encrypted channels such as Signal, Telegram or a Tor browser tip line. The program accepted information in several languages.
The Rewards for Justice program began in 1984. Since then, it has paid more than $250 million to more than 125 people who provided information that helped protect US national security.
Officials noted that sources remain confidential. Relocation for informants and their families was available on a case-by-case basis.
The State Department statement referred to reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency. In 2025, the agency reported that Iran was enriching uranium to 60 percent purity. That level sits close to the 90 percent purity generally linked to weapons-grade material.
Iran remained the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce uranium at such a high enrichment level, according to the notice. The statement also said Iran’s lack of compliance with IAEA safeguards obligations had caused the agency to lose continuity of knowledge about the production and inventory of key components such as centrifuges.
