The African Democratic Congress unveiled the venue for the flag-off of its presidential campaign on Tuesday. Party officials confirmed the event would take place at the ADC state secretariat along Ilorin Road in Sokoto.
Senator Ibrahim Lamido, the State Presidential Campaign Coordinator, made the announcement in an official statement. He said the campaign kick-off would hold at No. 1 Ilorin Road, Sokoto, on Wednesday.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, was scheduled to lead the flag-off. Lamido stated that Atiku would arrive at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport in Sokoto at 9:00 a.m.
He invited party members, loyalists and the general public to receive the candidate at the airport. Afterwards they would proceed to the campaign venue.
Lamido directed party leadership across all local government areas and political wards to mobilise their grassroots structures. He urged executives, mobilisation coordinators, support groups, women and youth wings to ensure maximum participation.
“All local government area and ward executives, mobilisation coordinators, support groups, as well as women and youth wings, are urged to activate their respective structures and ensure maximum participation,” Lamido stated.
The venue announcement followed earlier delays linked to planning issues. National and state party leaders, grassroots supporters and allied groups were expected to attend the launch in Sokoto.
The flag-off formed part of the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections. Atiku Abubakar headed the party’s presidential ticket for the contest.
