President Bola Tinubu celebrated his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, as she marked her 66th birthday on Monday, 21 September 2026. He described her as his truest friend and confidante in a personal tribute.
Bola Tinubu released the message on his verified X handle. He addressed her as Oluremi mi and praised her patience, grace and uncommon courage. He wrote that elders say a good wife is her husband’s crown.
He noted that she had walked beside him through different seasons of life. She shared his burdens and offered counsel in difficult moments. The thoughts he could not put into words somehow found their way to her.
Tinubu stated that she stayed calm beside him and prayed with him when the future was uncertain. He said she often sensed when he needed counsel before he asked. There had been nights when her presence alone was counsel enough.
He called her his truest friend and confidante because she spoke the truth plainly, even on days he would rather not hear it. After a demanding day, she waited until they were alone before telling him what he needed to hear. He said he had always cherished her for that honesty.
The President highlighted her role in the family. He said their children and grandchildren had grown under the shelter of her prayers and carried her values of faith and kindness. He described her as compassionate and kind, with a generosity of spirit and steadfast faith.
Tinubu added that if life returned him to the beginning, he would choose the same road that led him to her. Through every mile, his heart had always remained at home with her. He thanked her for the life they had built and the love that had held it together.
