France Football announced the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or on Tuesday. The magazine selected players based on performances during the 2025-26 season. The winner will be revealed on October 26 in London.
Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain holds the previous award after his strong campaign. He appears again on the new shortlist.
Paris Saint-Germain supplied the largest group of nominees. The list includes Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabián Ruiz, Ferran Torres and Vitinha.
Six Spanish players earned places. Pau Cubarsí and Lamine Yamal represent Barcelona. Marc Cucurella and Rodri feature for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. Fabián Ruiz and Ferran Torres complete the Spanish contingent from Paris Saint-Germain.
Real Madrid contributed Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr. Bayern Munich placed Luis Díaz, Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano. Arsenal added Gabriel, Declan Rice and William Saliba.
Lionel Messi of Inter Miami returns to the shortlist. Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Lautaro Martínez of Inter Milan and Sadio Mané of Al Nassr also appear.
Julián Quiñones of Al-Qadsiah earned a nomination from the Saudi league. England captain Harry Kane joined club and country teammates on the list after a productive season.
Cristiano Ronaldo did not receive a nomination. The full group of 30 now advances toward the final vote by international journalists.
