Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, announced the successful rescue of a kidnapped mother and her child on Saturday. His Iru Ekun Security Network worked with police operatives to free the pair in Kwara State.
Adijat Kubura Aliqlas and her two-year-old son, Abdulmalik, were abducted in Igbope community within Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State. The kidnappers took them to a forest in Kwara State. Igboho stated that his team received intelligence about their location and coordinated with authorities.
Operatives from the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Ajegoke Amos, joined Igboho’s network. The combined team pretended to deliver ransom to the kidnappers in Bode Sadu forest.
When the kidnappers opened fire, a fierce gun battle followed. The criminals fled, and some sustained gunshot wounds.
The rescuers heard the victims’ cries and located them unharmed. Adijat Kubura Aliqlas expressed relief after her ordeal. The team moved the mother and son to Igboho General Hospital for medical checks. Igboho confirmed they received treatment there.
Igboho, who founded the Iru Ekun Security Network, highlighted the importance of community vigilance. The operation demonstrated swift collaboration between private security and police forces. Authorities continued efforts to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers.
