10 Killed, Nearly 100 Injured as Russian Missiles and Drones Strike Kyiv, Dnipro

Russia launched a major drone and missile assault overnight that killed at least ten people and wounded nearly one hundred others across Kyiv and Dnipro. Ukrainian officials confirmed the casualties on Tuesday morning, as emergency workers dug through the wreckage of collapsed residential buildings.Russia

In the capital, Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that four people were killed and 58 others sustained injuries, including two children. A Russian missile strike hit a 24-story apartment building, causing a partial collapse and trapping residents under the rubble.

Falling missile fragments struck a second nine-story residential building, igniting fires and forcing evacuations. Klitschko further reported that fires spread across multiple districts after a car caught fire due to falling debris in the Obolon district and flames reached an area near a kindergarten.

Meanwhile the southeastern city of Dnipro endured an equally intense attack. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha stated that Russian forces killed six people and injured 33 others there.

Among the wounded were a 13-year-old girl, a 22-year-old man, and a 71-year-old woman who remained in serious condition. Hanzha added that the strikes destroyed residential buildings, burnt out vehicles, and heavily damaged a children’s playground.

Furthermore, Russia stated that the bombardment served as retaliation. Last week, the Kremlin warned it would conduct “systematic strikes” on Kyiv following a drone attack on a dormitory in the Russian occupied Luhansk region that reportedly killed 21 people. Ukraine has denied any involvement in that specific strike.
