BREAKING: Ohanaeze Ndigbo Backs Alex Otti, Praises His Impactful Leadership

The Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide passed a resounding vote of confidence on Governor Alex Chioma Otti. The group described his leadership as deliberate and impactful. Leaders announced the decision at a press briefing in Umuahia on Thursday.

Publicity Secretary Godwin Adindu read the statement on behalf of the chapter. He said the organisation followed political developments in Abia State over the past three years.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abia State, is today passing a vote of commendation and a vote of confidence on Governor Alex Otti for being deliberate and intentional in uplifting the standard of life of the citizens and residents of Abia State,” Godwin Adindu stated.

The group highlighted tremendous transformation in key sectors. These included health, education, road infrastructure and civil service reforms. Godwin Adindu added that radical innovations expanded the frontiers of life across the state.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo noted the massive infrastructural renewal of Aba. The city holds central importance to Ndigbo. “The Governor’s massive infrastructural renewal of Aba has gained the admiration and commendation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, such that Governor Otti is today the pride of Ndigbo as he represents the Igbo spirit of innovation, industry, resilience and entrepreneurship,” Godwin Adindu declared.

Assistant Publicity Secretary Chief Obinna Ibe supported the position. The chapter also praised the creation of a good business environment. It said this eased doing business and allowed trade and industry to thrive.

Governor Alex Chioma Otti restructured the civil service. Workers now receive salaries regularly on or before the 28th of every month. Pensioners also get timely payments. “This decisive effort which has put smiles on the faces of our workforce is highly commendable,” the statement noted.

Furthermore, the governor established the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy. He made the study of Igbo language compulsory in secondary schools. He required Executive Council members to wear native attire on a specific day each week. These steps promoted Igbo culture and identity.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo urged constructive opposition in Abia State. It warned against politics of bitterness. The group said it would continue to recognise outstanding Igbo leaders who promote the Igbo cause. Leaders described the vote as motivation for Governor Alex Chioma Otti to sustain people centric services.
