Super Eagles Beat Iran 2-1 as Simon and Adams Deliver the Goals

Nigeria winger Moses Simon and striker Akor Adams scored the goals that handed the Super Eagles a 2-1 victory over Iran in an international friendly. The match unfolded at the Antalya Stadium in Turkey on March 27 2026.

Nigeria took control from the start. In the sixth minute Samuel Chukwueze played a well-weighted pass into space. Moses Simon spun away from his marker and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner for the 1-0 lead. The Super Eagles dominated possession after the goal. Moses Simon drove into the penalty area several times and created threats while the defense stayed solid.

Nigeria pushed forward in the second half. In the 52nd minute Ademola Lookman delivered a precise pass through the Iran defense. Akor Adams stayed calm and finished inside the far post to make the score 2-0. The goal came after strong build-up play that stretched the Iranian back line.

Iran responded with more urgency. In the 67th minute a corner struck the crossbar. Iran captain Mehdi Taremi reacted quickest and slotted the ball home from close range to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

Iran applied late pressure and searched for an equalizer. Mehdi Taremi had another effort ruled out for handball. Nigeria however stayed organized. The Super Eagles defense held firm through four minutes of added time and secured the victory. The result marked a hard-fought win that extended Nigeria positive run in friendlies.
