2027: “Party With 31 States Has Nothing to Fear From ADC,” Says Gov Sul

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule dismissed the African Democratic Congress as a serious threat on March 23. He spoke during an interaction with stakeholders in his state. Sule argued that the ruling All Progressives Congress had no reason to worry about the ADC.

Moreover, Sule pointed to the APC control of 31 states. He contrasted this with the ADC, which he said controlled none. Sule stated that a party with such widespread power could not feel scared.

“There’s no problem whatsoever with our party. A party controlling 31 states cannot actually be scared of a party that doesn’t control one state,” Sule said.

Additionally, the governor addressed internal APC matters. He insisted that the party remained united and ready for the 2027 general elections. Sule added that the APC focused on delivering good governance rather than fearing opposition moves.

Furthermore, recent defections strengthened the APC grip across Nigeria. Several governors from other parties joined the APC in recent months. As a result, the opposition struggled to maintain relevance in many states.

Sule also revealed personal political plans. He said overwhelming pressure from his parents, traditional rulers and supporters led him to consider a senatorial bid in 2027 for Nasarawa North. Sule noted that he had earlier planned to step aside after his second term but changed his mind.

Meanwhile some opposition figures pushed for unity under the ADC platform. They aimed to challenge the APC in the next elections. However, Sule maintained that such efforts posed no real danger to the ruling party.

The governor urged APC members to stay focused. He promised continued development in Nasarawa State. Political observers watched the comments closely as parties prepared for 2027.
