Taraba State Governor Flags Off Construction of Livestock Service Centre

Agbu Kefas launches agricultural infrastructure project aimed at boosting livestock production and supporting pastoral communities across the state

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas flagged off the construction of a Livestock Service Centre in the state on Monday. The governor performed the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the project.

The initiative formed part of the state government’s efforts to develop agricultural infrastructure and support livestock farmers. Furthermore, the project aimed to enhance productivity in the livestock sector and improve service delivery to pastoral communities.

The Livestock Service Centre will provide essential services to livestock farmers across Taraba State. The facility will offer veterinary care, breeding support, and training programmes for pastoralists.

Additionally, the centre will serve as a hub for disease control and prevention activities. This infrastructure will help reduce livestock mortality rates and increase farmer incomes.

Governor Kefas addressed stakeholders during the flag-off ceremony. He emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector to the state’s economy.

“The Livestock Service Centre represents our commitment to transforming agriculture in Taraba State,” Kefas said.

He added that the project would create employment opportunities for youths and boost food security in the region.
