Eberechi Eze restored Arsenal’s lead in the 65th minute. Eze, Arsenal’s midfielder who came off the bench, twisted past his marker and rifled a powerful shot into the roof of the net. This thunderbolt silenced the home crowd.
Max Dowman, Arsenal’s 16-year-old debutant, impressed in a free role. He created chances and nearly scored with a snap shot that Liam Roberts saved. Meanwhile, Madueke initiated attacks, including a 50-yard run that led to a clearance off the line from Gabriel Jesus’ shot.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Arsenal’s goalkeeper, made key saves, such as stopping Louis Reed’s effort. For Mansfield, Evans proved decisive with his goal, while Reed and Rhys Oates threatened throughout.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, made nine changes to the lineup. After the match, Eze commented on the game. He said, “Difficult environment to play in today. We did what we needed to do.” Arsenal now prepares for their Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.
The victory kept Arsenal’s quadruple hopes alive amid a busy season. Mansfield exited the competition despite a spirited display.
